The Stables at Tamaya

New Mexico Trail Riding, Lead-Arounds & Rodeos

The Stables at Tamaya are a true reflection of the Tamayame's respect for their land and animals. At the Stables, you will find some of the most beautifully groomed, mild-mannered, pampered horses and ponies in the Southwest. Over half of our horses are rescue animals from the Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Program. Allow our trail guides to tailor a riding program to match your skill level, whether you are a beginner or regular rider.

Children's Pony Rides (SEASONAL)

The Stables at Tamaya offer complimentary pony rides to children three through eight years of age in the Grand Courtyard of the pony corral. Pony rides are available on weekends in June, July & August.

Trail Rides
Trail rides are offered twice daily and are expertly guided by friendly, professional handlers. Morning rides begin at 8:30 am and evening rides at 6:30pm. Reservations are required by 8:00 PM the day prior to the ride by calling the Concierge Desk at (505)771-6060. Private rides also availalble. $75/person regular, $100/person private. Children must be 7 years old and/or 4 feet tall to ride.

Thursday Night Rodeo (June - August)
Join us for a night of family fun at the Stables at Tamaya weekly rodeo! Hay wagons to the Stables depart at 6:40 pm from Equestrian Circle. There are roping competitions, barrell racing and fun games and contests for the kiddos. The rodeo is open to guests and the general public. Call 505-771-6060 for reservations. Guests = $10/adult, $5/children. Public = $20/adult, $10 children. (Children = 3 to 12 years old. All proceeds go to the Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Program!

Special Occasions
Lend elegance and style to your wedding day, anniversary, prom night or other special occasion with a private horse drawn carriage ride. Our Resort Activities Reservations Coordinator can assist you in creating lasting memories for your special occasion.

Cost for group trail rides is $75 + tax per person. Private trail rides are available at $100 + tax per person. Children must be 7 years of age and 4 feet tall to ride the trails. Proper attire, including long pants and closed-toe shoes, are strongly recommended.
